Partial shade, temperate, partial moisture.

Bulbous base with green leaves that twist and turn.  Leaves turn red/purple before blooming.  Scape is short with violet petals.

Prefers warm humid climate so water well in drier areas.

Pups easily and looks good mounted or hung to form a ball.
